Bob Byrne has played many roles throughout his career: designer, developer, engineer, executive, inventor and entrepreneur. But no matter what the role, Bob has approached them all with the same passion and dedication, as well as a collaborative and innovative spirit that can transform any endeavor into a successful reality.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, it was Bob's connection to the sport of lacrosse that would help define his tenacity and understanding of what it takes to lead a winning team. Son of legendary Johns Hopkins lacrosse All-American, Mike Byrne, Bob would eventually make his own mark on the lacrosse world as captain and standout face-off midfielder for the nationally ranked Roanoke College Maroons. But from an early age it was his enthusiasm and commitment to art and creative expression that consumed most of his time off the lacrosse field.

After college, Bob headed west and used his creative drive and vision to make a mark in the shoe business designing and developing footwear for LA Gear, Heelys, Skechers and Deckers. He also headed up his own freelance design & development firms, Edge Quest and The Doghouse, working for such diverse companies as Crocs, DKNY, Teva, Converse, K-Swiss, Simple, AD One, Footjoy, Cleatskins and Airwalk to name a few. With each endeavor, Bob's focus has been on conceptualizing cutting edge ideas and adapting to each client by solving problems and bringing those innovative products to market no matter what the challenges.

Currently, Bob and his family enjoy living in the rural Santa Rita Hills surrounded by Santa Barbara wine country vineyards. Bob works at Deckers Brands as a Senior Manager- Product Integrity Engineer and continues being a journeyman in the footwear industry.
